About Me

Five(ish) Things About Me:

1. Although I currently live in Northern Kentucky with my husband and extremely spoiled French Bulldog, I’m an Arizonan at heart.

2. I am a Turkish-American with Turkish language skills that allow me to fool tourists but not taxi drivers!

3. I’m a graduate of The Book Incubator writing program, led by authors Mary Adkins and Rufi Thorpe, and was a 2024 finalist for the Women’s Fiction Writers Association Rising Star Award.

4. Before I pivoted to pursue a lifelong (secret) dream of becoming and author, I had a 20+ year career in international development, living in Afghanistan, Liberia, and Myanmar (with shorter work stints in several other interesting places), where I led life-saving women’s health projects.

5. I love thrifting vintage treasures and imagining the stories behind them. I love plants and am an aspiring gardener. I love animals and my house would be full of them if I didn’t also love to travel.
